After weeks of speculation, Magnus Norman has finally been confirmed as Jannik Sinner’s new coach.
In an Instagram video, Sinner announced that he would be parting ways Darren Cahill after four years, and five Grand Slam title wins, together.
Norman, meanwhile, has just ended his long-standing partnership with Stan Wawrinka, who has just played his final-ever competitive match in tennis.
Sinner announced the news that he would be working with Magnus Norman and now the Swedish coach has shared a statement on the upcoming collaboration.

In a post via Norman’s academy Good to Great, the Swede said: “First of all, I have enormous respect for the work Darren Cahill and the entire team have done with Jannik Sinner over the years.
“They have done an incredible job, and I feel privileged to have the opportunity to build on what they have achieved. Jannik is obviously already one of the best players in the world, but what excited me most is his personality and mindset.
“He is still young, very humble and incredibly hungry to learn and improve, despite everything he has already accomplished. For me, that is what makes working with him so exciting.
“I’m really looking forward to being part of his team and contributing in any way I can to his continued development.”
Sinner and Norman are set to work together in the off-season at the Italian’s home in Monte Carlo ahead of the 2027 season.
That implies that Sinner is closing in on a return to tennis after missing the second half of the season due to a knee injury.
It’s likely that his next competitive tournament will be the Australian Open, which takes place at the end of January, as Sinner does not tend to play a warm-up event Down Under.
Both Sinner and Norman have experience of winning the tournament, with the Italian claiming two titles in 2024 and 2025 and the Swede guiding Wawrinka to the 2014 title in Melbourne.
Between them, Sinner and Norman have currently won eight Grand Slams between them, so they should be a force to be reckoned with in the 2027 season.
2027 looks to be dominated by top, new coaching collaborations, with Juan Carlos Ferrero working with Ben Shelton and Felix Auger-Aliassime getting to grips with Ivan Ljubicic as his new coach.
Norman will be hoping to fit in seamlessly with Sinner’s other coach, Simone Vagnozzi, who worked tirelessly alongside Cahill in their very successful four years together.
Sinner will be the fourth player Norman has worked with on the ATP Tour, following partnerships with Thomas Johansson, Robin Soderling, and Wawrinka.
