Iga Swiatek and Elina Svitolina saw their respective campaigns at the 2026 China Open end at the quarter-final stage, but how many ranking points and how much prize money did the pair earn?

World No 7 Svitolina was beaten 6-3, 7-6(6) by 54th-ranked Chinese star Zheng Qinwen in the third quarter-final in Beijing — and the first of two played on Friday.

The 32-year-old Ukrainian earned victories over Katerina Siniakova, Maria Sakkari and Ann Li en route to the last eight at the WTA 1000 tournament.

It was Svitolina’s first-ever encounter with Zheng — who has reached a career-high ranking of world No 4.

World No 9 Swiatek then lost 7-6(0), 6-3 to 19th-ranked Elise Mertens in the last women’s quarter-final.

The Pole overcame Gao Xinyu, Donna Vekic and Iva Jovic prior to her loss to the 30-year-old Belgian.

Swiatek had won her two previous meetings with Mertens without losing a set.
