Alex Eala will have big money sponsorship offers coming her way after a stunning few weeks of success turned her into the new superstar of women’s tennis and one new deal has already been signed.

Eala has stepped forward as one of the big stars of the WTA Tour after a run of form that saw her reach the last-16 at Wimbledon last month, beating defending champion Iga Swiatek in that run.

She backed that up by winning her first WTA Tour title in Washington last week as she beat five highly-rated opponents to take the title and her star status was confirmed as she was put on the night session for her three matches at the Canadian Open and played in front of sell-out crowds.

Eala Mania is now set to be a feature of the US Open and the big companies are lining up to be part of the start of the heroes of the Philippines.

In a story that has echoes of Emma Raducanu’s rush to sign for a host of sponsors after her shock US Open win in 2021, Eala is now announcing new deals of her own after it was confirmed she has signed to be an ambassador for Marriott Bonvoy hotel group.

“Marriott Bonvoy, the award-winning travel program of Marriott International and Official Hotel Partner of the Australian Open, today announced Filipino tennis star Alex Eala as the face of its Asia Pacific excluding China (APEC) edition of the globally celebrated Tennis The World campaign,” read a statement announcing the deal.

“The partnership marks a landmark moment for the loyalty program as it champions Marriott Bonvoy Moments through sport — one that is youthful, authentic and inspirational.

“Eala, one of the most exciting names to emerge on the professional tennis world stage today, embodies Marriott Bonvoy’s brand spirit of big-hearted ambition and bold discovery. With breakthrough performances on the sport’s biggest stages, a rapidly growing international fanbase and a deep connection to Southeast Asia, she embodies Marriott Bonvoys’s spirit of curiosity, ambition and discovery.”

Eala also offered her comments as she said: “Travel has always been such a meaningful part of my journey as a tennis player. Every tournament brings the opportunity to experience new places, meet new people and create memories that stay with you long after the match is over.

“I’m excited to partner with Marriott Bonvoy because they share that same belief in the power of travel and meaningful experiences, and I can’t wait to connect with fans across through this partnership.”

There will be plenty of observers watching how quickly Eala signs up for sponsorship deals as she looks to make the moment of her moment in the spotlight, with the lessons from Raducanu’s rush to cash in likely to be learned by the new big star of women’s tennis.
