Carlos Alcaraz is into his first Paris Rolex Masters final after he defeated Casper Ruud 6-4 6-4.

The Spaniard produced a dominant display as he cruised into a first Paris final and continued his red-hot form after winning Vienna last week.

It was a significant win as it now means Alcaraz is into an eleventh Masters 1000 final as well as a seventh different Masters 1000 final with Shanghai and Canada only missing form his collection.

After the contest Alcaraz admitted he was proud of his achievement in Paris, “I’m really happy and proud of myself,” Alcaraz explained to the ATP website.

“This tournament has always been really tough for me. I’ve struggled every time I come here. The farthest I have gone [before] was the quarter-finals… I’ve come into this part of the season much fresher, hungry, ambitious, excited about coming to the tournaments and stepping on the court, playing matches and competing. I’m just really happy that I made the final.”

Next up for Alcaraz will be a rematch from the US Open quarter-finals against Ben Shelton after the American edged past Luca Van Assche in three sets.

Revenge will be on Alcaraz’s mind after Shelton defeated the Spaniard in a dramatic fifth set tiebreak in New York in a significant contest.

It was Shelton’s first ever win over Alcaraz and the Spaniard is now looking forward to the final where he has the chance to achieve glory, “Tomorrow is going to be a big day,” Alcaraz acknowledged.

“I’m really happy and excited. I can’t wait and will try to prepare for the match the best that I can and give myself a chance. I really want to take revenge against Ben. Last time was a pretty tough match. I’m going to try to do different things at little moments, important moments, that I probably didn’t do well last time. I’m pretty sure it is going to be a great match to watch, for me to play and of course to learn.”

The final will take place at 2pm UK time.
