Alex Eala and Felix Auger-Aliassime have signed up to play the US Open Mixed Doubles, but their place in the tournament is not certain yet.
Several teams, including Jessica Pegula and Jack Draper, Alex de Minaur and Katie Boulter, and Casper Ruud and Iga Swiatek have signed up for the event.
With an all-star list of names, there are several big names who might miss out on a guaranteed spot at the tournament, including Eala and Auger-Aliassime.
Aryna Sabalenka and Novak Djokovic, Elena Rybakina and Taylor Fritz, Diana Shnaider and Daniil Medvedev, Belinda Bencic and Flavio Cobolli, and Amanda Anisimova and Learner Tien are the only players to confirm their spot thanks to their rankings.
The top-ranked 12 teams will be certain to play the event, with the cut-off date set for Monday, August 17th, meaning the results of the Canadian Open are vital for Eala and Auger-Aliassime’s hopes of earning a guaranteed spot.

Eala and Auger-Aliassime will be hoping for two results to go their way at the Canadian Open, in both the men’s and women’s draw.
If Elina Svitolina and Brandon Nakashima win the tournaments, Eala and Auger-Aliassime will be confirmed to play the US Open thanks to their joint ranking.
Svitolina is set for semi final clash with Iga Swiatek, while Nakashima will play in-form Rafael Jodar for a chance in the final, so Auger-Aliassime and Eala’s place is far from certain.

However, the pair are in a pretty decent position even if they don’t end up qualifying through their ranking.
Eala has been one of the most popular players on the WTA Tour this year, packing out arenas in Melbourne, Abu Dhabi, Wimbledon, and most recently the Canadian Open.
With a big Filipino community in New York, she’s almost certain to be a sensation at Flushing Meadows this year.
Therefore, if Eala and Auger-Aliassime don’t qualify with their joint ranking, they will almost certainly been gifted a wildcard by the powers that be at the US Open.
Eala has made one previous appearance at the US Open, in 2025, when she picked up her first-ever Grand Slam victory against Clara Tauson in the first round.
