Alex Eala’s campaign at the 2026 Canadian Open ended with a fourth round defeat to Belinda Bencic, but how much prize money and how many ranking points did the Filipina earn at the event?

The world No 20 was beaten 6-4, 6-0 by world No 14 Bencic in the last 16 at the WTA 1000 tournament in Toronto on Sunday evening.

Eala was broken in six of her eight service games in the match, and she won just eight points in a second set dominated by her 29-year-old Swiss opponent.

The 21-year-old’s loss ended an impressive seven-match winning streak that featured two victories in Canada and five wins in Washington DC — where she claimed her maiden WTA Tour title.

In her press conference after losing to Bencic, Eala was asked hoe she was feeling physically and mentally.

“Yeah, it’s always tough, of course, after a loss. But like I said, I’m looking back at these past two weeks as a really big positive. I think I’ve played really well, I’ve gotten through so many obstacles.

“Of course, right now there’s that initial just kind of a little tired and down from the match. But, yeah, I think, I mean, I’m healthy, which is something I’m super grateful for. It’s something that’s obviously on the top of my priority all the time. So, yeah I’m counting my blessings.

Eala’s earned 120 points for her two wins at the Canadian Open, which has increased her points total to 2,216.

The Filipina started the tournament at a career-high ranking of world No 20 after winning the WTA 500 in Washington DC, and she remains 20th in the Live WTA Rankings.
